ONE MAN; ONE BIKE; TWO EVENTS; TWO WINSPosted by: Editor in Coming Events, CrossCountry News, Enduro NewsOne man, one bike, two events over two days, two different disciplines and two wins … it’s all adding up for Mokau’s Adrian Smith. Australia will continue to host a round of the World Superbike Championships (WSB) until at least 2014. Czech Republic rider Jakub Smrz set the fastest time in the final World Superbike test session at Phillip Island this week, but Italian Michel Fabrizio clung on to the best time overall. Exciting dirt bike race action comes thick and fast again this summer, starting with round one of two separate series, the North Island and South Island Cross-Country Championships, both of which off this weekend. It was a David versus Goliath battle and Whakatane’s Tony Rees declared himself “very satisfied” after his performance at the Yamaha Battle of the Streets race meeting in Paeroa on Sunday. Everything is falling into place for New Zealand’s Paul Whibley, national cross-country champion in the United States. Fresh off his first podium achieved at round one of the Italian championships last week, New Zealand’s Josh Coppins looked set to test his speed against a star studded field at the Valence MX international held in France over the weekend. |
