THIEVES STRIKE IN AUCKLANDPosted by: Editor in CrossCountry News, Enduro News, Motocross NewsOn Sunday morning, April 25, the 2009 Honda CRF450R race bike belonging to top national racer Chris Power was stolen from his father’s warehouse lock-up in Glenfield, Auckland. It was another luckless outing on the race track for Kiwi hero Paul Whibley in the United States at the weekend. Suzuki rider Leon Haslam recovered from a disappointing 11th place in race one at the fourth round of the World Superbike Championships in Assen, Holland, at the weekend to take runner-up spot in race two and extend his world championship lead. Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey needed only to finish sixth or better at the 15th round of 17 in Seattle on Saturday night to secure the AMA supercross crown in his rookie season and an eventual fourth place in the main event was therefore more than enough for him to celebrate. Teenage MX2 rider Jeffrey Herlings celebrated his first GP win in front of an appreciative home crowd at the Dutch motocross GP on Sunday. |
