MIXED WEEKEND FOR PHILLIPS
New Zealand’s Mason Phillips had a mixed weekend at round seven of the Canadian motocross nationals at Riverglade Motocross Park.
Phillips finished 13th and 7th in his two MX1 outings, placing him 10th overall for the day.
Phillips is now seventh in the overall championship standings.
Meanwhile, British Columbia’s Dusty Klatt (Yamaha) won the MX1 class, followed by Hungary’s Kornel Nemeth (KTM), and Americans Bobby Kiniry (Suzuki), Troy Adams (Kawasaki) and Josh Demuth (Kawasaki).
Ontario’s Tyler Medaglia (Yamaha) won the MX2 (250cc) class.
American Teddy Maier (Kawasaki) finished runner-up in MX2, followed by Jeremy Medaglia (Suzuki), of Ontario, Kevin Benoit (KTM), of Quebec, and Jared Allison (Yamaha), of Alberta.
New Zealand’s Rhys Carter (Kawasaki) has not been able to continue his Canadian adventure because of an injury sustained at round three. Despite scoring no points since round two of the series, Carter is, remarkably, still 20th in the championship standings.
