An injury has forced Team New Zealand to announce a change to its squad for the Motocross of Nations event in England in early October.
Tauranga’s Josiah Natzke (pictured here) will now be part of the trio to tackle the Motocross of Nations event in the south of England in just over five weeks’ time.
Natzke (KTM, Open Class) will join Tauranga’s Brodie Connolly (Honda, MX2) and West Auckland’s Hamish Harwood (KTM, MXGP) for the up-and-coming Motocross of Nations (MXoN) at Matterley Basin, near Winchester, on the weekend of October 4-6, after Australian-based dual (NZ and Australia) passport holder Nathan Crawford withdrew with injury.
Natzke, who will be the New Zealand team’s Open Class rider, and will be joining the team after coming off his second overall placing in the Triple Crown Series in Canada.
Natzke brings a fresh energy and skill set that will bolster our team as New Zealand continues to strive for excellence at this world-class event.
Team co-managers Shayne King and Bevan Weal said: “We are excited to have Josiah join us for this year’s MXoN, there is only one time a year that our riders get to compete against the best riders on the world stage all at one venue and we both know Josiah will give us the best possible result and wave the New Zealand flag high at Matterley”.
Natzke said: “I’m stoked on the opportunity to be able to represent New Zealand again at MXoN. The personal goes to one side and I’ll always be there for my country. I will be ready to show what I can do on the world stage.”
2024 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations is to be held from the 4th to 6th October 2024, at Matterley Basin, England.
