Motorcycling New Zealand has been advised that the Taupo Motorcycle Club has had no alternative but to cancel the first round of the 2013 New Zealand Supercross Championships.

The event was to have been held on January 2, 2013.

The cancellation is due to the lack of support from competitors. There has been a very low number of rider entries.

The South Canterbury Motorcycle Club’s second round of the Championship is still to be held at this stage, on January 12, 2013.

However, this is dependent on the club receiving more entries.
