NOW WE HAVE WINNER No.9
Italy’s Andrea Dovizioso has won a wet Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang, the Ducati rider’s first victory since 2009 and this also made him the ninth different winner of the season.
Yamaha team-mates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo completed the podium after Andrea Iannone, Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow all fell from the lead group in quick succession.
Rossi has now secured second in the world championship ahead of his team-mate.
The start was delayed by 20-minutes due to a heavy rain storm.
Sepang was resurfaced, and some corners re-profiled, ahead of this year’s race.
Japan’s Hiroshi Aoyama was replacing the injured Dani Pedrosa at Repsol Honda, while Iannone made a comeback from vertebra damage at Misano.
