progress direct to the final, while riders 10-20 will fight it out in a last chance qualifier for two more finals places.
The final will be contested over three separate six lap races, with just five minutes between each race from when the first rider passes the chequered flag. Points are awarded for each race and the accumulated points will be totalled to find a winner.

Round Robin – Open only
One of the exciting new formats for this year’s series, the Round Robin, consists of three rounds with three heats of 10 riders in each round. Each heat will be five laps each, giving a total of nine races for the heats alone. Each heat will also consist of a different list of riders meaning they will be pitted
against different riders each time. The riders with the highest accumulative points from the heats make the 12 rider, eight lap final.
Super Sprint – 250cc Class Only
250cc Class Super Sprint consists of four heats of 10 riders in six lap races. The top five from each
heat go through to make the two semi finals of 10 riders each. The top six from each semi final go
through to the final and the top 12 riders will contest an eight lap final.
Survival – Open Only
Competitors will run off in two 10 lap heats – positions 1-9 will progress direct to the final, while
riders 10-20 will fight it out in a last chance qualifier for two more finals places.
A 20-lap final will be split across four, five lap races. After five laps the last five competitors will be eliminated until five riders are left to do battle in one decisive five lap sprint.
A start clock will begin counting down two minutes until the start of the each five lap race as soon as the first competitor crosses the finish line.
Double Header – Open & 250cc Class
Competitors will run off in two 10 lap heats (8 for 250cc class) – positions 1-9 will progress direct to
the final, while riders 10-20 will fight it out in a last chance qualifier for two more finals places.
The “Double Header” final will consist of two, 10 lap races for the open class and two, eight lap races for the 250cc class.
Super X New Zealand Open
The top 15 open class riders after round five will be taken to the Super X New Zealand Open to compete against local NZ riders.
There will be no championship points awarded for the 250cc class race in New Zealand.
