The dust has barely settled following this season’s Motocross of Nations, but already plans are being made for the 2010 edition of the great race.

The FIM and Youthstream have announced that the 2010 Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations will be run on September 25-26 at the Thunder Valley Motocross Park facility, just outside metro Denver, in Lakewood, Colorado.

Only three years after the amazing success of Budds Creek, Maryland, that marked the last professional motocross appearance of the legendary Ricky Carmichael, the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations will be back in the heartland of team USA, the most successful team of the past two decades.

More than 30 countries will send their three best riders to compete for the coveted ‘Chamberlain Trophy’ – the equivalent of the ‘Olympic Gold’, as the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations is also known as “The Olympics of Motorcycling”.

2010 will mark the 64th edition of this event, and this will be the third time it’s ever been held in the USA, following this year’s edition in Italy.

FIM president Mr. Vito Ippolito said: “It is positive to see the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations coming back to the United States in 2010, Youthstream has reached an important target with this agreement.

“I remember the 2007 edition of the event in Budds Creek, again in America: It was my first motocross race as the FIM president and I was impressed by the passion of a massive crowd, by the good working organisation and by the atmosphere.”

The President of Youthstream Mr. Giuseppe Luongo continued: “I am glad to hear Mr. Ippolito’s enthusiasm, our goal is to make an even better event than in Budds Creek, this is how Youthstream works, we want to make things better year by year, and I am sure the 2010 venue of the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations, Thunder Valley Motocross in Lakewood, Colorado, has got the potential to make a superb race.

“I would like to thank again Mr. David Clabaugh, the owner of Thunder Valley Motocross Park, Youthstream USA General Manager Mr. Mario Marini, the FIM and the AMA. We have set an ambitious goal and we will reach it together.”
