KIWI IN THE POINTS
Rotorua’s John Phillips was the only Kiwi in action at round two of the Red Bull Pro Nationals in the United Kingdom at the weekend.
It was a tough day at the office for the young New Zealander – a key member of the Kiwi DBG Race Team — after he crashed in qualifying.
He battled on at the Landrake, Cornwall, race track to finish 17th and 14th for 14th overall in the MX2 class for the day.
Phillips is now 11th overall after the two rounds.
Meanwhile, it was a clean sweep for Honda’s Brad Anderson in MX1, ahead of Scotsman Shaun Simpson, and Honda’s Elliott Banks-Browne did likewise in the MX2 class, with Suzuki’s Mel Pocock following him home in both races.
