It was a truly maximum effort from American Zach Osborne as he dominated the opening round of the British Masters Motocross at the weekend.

The Yamaha ace (pictured above) won both races in the Pro MX1 class and scored back-to-back wins in the Pro MX2 class as well.

He beat former GP star Brad Anderson to the top of the MX1 class and headed Luke Hawkins in the MX2 division.

For the three Kiwis in action, it was also a positive experience on their first visit to the track at Mallory Park, in Leicestershire, in the British Midlands.

Each of the three Kiwi-backed Kiwi DBG Suzuki Team riders – Hawke’s Bay’s Kieran Scheele, Masterton’s Bjarne Frederiksen and Rotorua’s John Phillips – scored good points at Mallory Park.

Racing in the MX1 class, Scheele finished 14th and 5th in his two races, good enough for eighth overall on the day, while fellow RM-Z450 rider Frederiksen managed 19th and 17th for 18th overall.

In the MX2 class, Phillips powered his Suzuki through to 12th and 10th placings, to settle at 10th overall for the day.

The Kiwi DBG Suzuki Team is managed by former Hawke’s Bay man Rex Michau.
