CHANGES IN THE WIND
As the motocross “silly season” winds on, news has come in that Dan Reardon and Matt Moss will shortly be changing colours.
The JDR Motorsports KTM has confirmed the signing of star duo Reardon (pictured above) and Moss for the 2011 Australian Motocross and Supercross Championships.
A three-time Australian SX Champion Reardon makes the move from Honda to KTM aiming to recapture the form that saw him earn a berth in the highly-competitive AMA series.
After spending the best part of the past three years abroad Reardon is returning to Australia full-time in 2011, hoping his new team will allow him to add to his already bulging trophy cabinet.
The move to the rival manufacturer could just be the perfect tonic for Reardon, who has struggled to reach his normally high standards during this year’s Australasian Supercross Championships.
Joining Reardon as a JDR Pro Open rider will be the up-and-coming Ryan Marmont, who after serving his apprenticeship in the Pro Lites class, gets the chance to make his mark on the big stage.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a solid season in his third year with the JDR team and is looking forward to taking the next step in his career.
“I’m stoked to be able to step up and it gives me something to strive for,” he said.
“It will be a learning year and I do have a lot of respect for Pro Open riders, but I hope to be competitive and I’m confident that I can be up there.”
The addition of Moss in the Pro Lites class is a major coup for the JDR team, with the two-time Australian SX Champion a genuine star of the MX/SX scene.
Currently second in the Pro Lites class of the 2010 Australasian Supercross Championship, Moss will be the senior in a youthful line-up for JDR in the class.
Reigning National U19 Motocross Champ Josh Cachia and former U19 winner Brenden Harrison round out the impressive squad, hoping to dominate the 2011 Australian season.
