New Zealand speed sensation Avalon Biddle will return to the WSBK paddock in 2017.

Taking a step up to race in the all-new World Supersport 300 Championship is an exciting prospect for the experienced Sourz Foods – Benjan Racing team and, in signing on the Kiwi woman, they have added an vastly-experienced rider to their team.

Biddle has won the FIM European Women’s Cup for the past two years running and she will now be competing amongst some of the fastest males in the world as one of only two females entered in the whole World Superbike Championship which kicks off in April.

Riding for Sourz Foods-Benjan Racing, a experienced Dutch team also contesting the European Stock1000 class, the partnership will compete in the nine races throughout Europe aboard a Kawasaki Ninja 300.

She will be the sole rider in the team competing in the seriously competitive 300 Supersport category, a new addition to the WorldSBK championship this year.

Backing from Sourz Foods and Benjan has made this exciting partnership possible for what promises to be a successful season ahead.

“The new Supersport 300 class is going to produce very close racing and I’m looking forward to working with Benjan Racing and getting my elbows out amongst the action – fighting for that World Championship title,” said Biddle.

“It is the perfect place to showcase Sourz Foods who are making this possible and also all my personal sponsors, especially MTF Vehicle Finance. I’m really grateful that we have been able to collaborate.

“Racing a Kawasaki ZX6R supersport bike over past couple of months here in New Zealand means I have been able to stay race fit over the European winter and I think that is a nice advantage. It gives me great confidence heading back in Europe to ride the Ninja 300 with this amazing team. I’m sure that together we will be competitive in 2017!”

Team manager Rob Vennegoor was also excited about the season ahead.

“As team we are happy to announce Avalon Biddle as our new FIM Supersport 300 World Championship rider,” said Vennegoor.

“We know each other for a few years and Avalon is not just a racer as she is the double FIM Europe Women’s European Cup winner of 2015 and 2016.

“This winter Avalon raced a Kawasaki ZX-6R in her home country New Zealand and that means that she is ‘race fit’ already and that’s a big advantage. I’m sure the new Supersport 300 Championship will produce great and close racing and we are proud to be part of this championship from the very first race. Like in many other sports, woman’s are getting better and better in motor racing and I’m sure Avalon is one of the best examples.”
