Watch out, BikesportNZ.com’s Josh Jack has found another gear.

That could well be the thought on the mind of riders at the Schoolboy Motocross Championships at Ardmore, near Papakura, at the weekend as the Coleman’s Suzuki rider from Kaukapakapa stormed to a hat-trick of wins in the MX125 (15-18 years 125cc) class.

“He didn’t have a great national junior motocross championships campaign but he certainly clicked at Ardmore at the weekend,” said Jack’s father, Andy Jack.

At the nationals near Blenheim last month, the Orewa School sixth former was forced to settle for seventh overall in the hotly-contested 15-16 years’ 125cc class, a small mistake in his last race of the weekend meaning he missed out by just four points on a top-five finish.

But nobody had an answer for the teenager from the Rodney district and his Suzuki RM125 at the weekend, the BikesportNZ.com rider finishing the day well ahead of Te Awamutu’s Leo Voorend (Yamaha) and Paeroa’s Kent Morley (Yamaha).

“He was pretty pumped by that result and is really looking forward to the Wellington Motocross Championships this weekend and the North Island Motocross Championships in Taranaki the weekend after that,” said Andy Jack.

Suzuki also ruled the MX85 (12-14 years’ 85cc) class with Silverdale’s Aiden Kiff – a fourth-former at Rodney’s Orewa School — producing a similar display to win all three of his races.

Kiff (RM85) finished ahead of Manurewa’s Sean O’Connor (Kawasaki) and fellow Aucklander Kurtis Lily (Yamaha).

Auckland’s Joel Doeksen (KTM) won the MX250cc class, ahead of Rotorua’s Scotty Canham (Kawasaki) and Helensville’s Evan Hood (KTM).
