BATTLE OF THE CLUBS
Another year has rolled around and it’s time to get the wheels in motion for New Zealand’s annual Motocross of Nations fundraising event – New Zealand’s Battle of the Clubs.
This event was kicked off as a fundraiser to assist the riders who attend the FIM Motocross of Nations, which is held in September each year.
FIM motorcycling associations are represented at the Motocross of Nations by a three-rider team who race in a combination for the coveted title.
Latvia is the hosting country for the 2014 Motocross of Nations event, set down for September 27 & 28.
It is the biggest race of the year and pictured here is a battle between former New Zealand Motocross of Nations team-mates Ben Townley (No.101) and Daryl Hurley (4) during last year’s Battle of the Clubs.
The Motocross of Nations will this year be held at the Kegums circuit in Latvia.

The Taupo Motorcycle Club hosts the NZ Battle of the Clubs, running the event under a similar format to the Motocross of Nations event, providing a combination of races and bike capacities across both junior and senior ranks.
The entry fee is $300 per club, with each club team comprising three junior and three senior riders.
The NZ Battle of the Clubs event will he held Saturday, June 28. The Taupo Motorcycle Club round will follow on Sunday, June 29.
It is a great weekend’s racing for the devoted motorcycling enthusiast … so get underway and sort out your club teams.
Entry form not yet available – the Taupo Motorcycle Club will update their web site when it is available.
