BERCY GETS BAMMED
American Justin Barcia was crowned King of Bercy in 2010 and now he has made a triumphant return in the Paris Bercy Sport Palais, dominating fellow US riders Trey Canard and Andrew Short to get another title in the French capital.
Fourth overall behind these SX riders, Gautier Paulin was the best non-US rider at the weekend’s 2013 edition of the Paris Supercross at Bercy.
Considered the favourite of this 31st edition of the Paris Bercy Supercross, Justin Barcia was the strongest rider during the first two nights, but had some troubles on Sunday as he did several mistakes and didn’t get a great start in the main event.
Only seventh in the early laps of the main, the man they call “Bam Bam” had to recover and came second behind Canard just after mid race to secure his overall win.
Paulin got the holeshot in this race and led the first two laps, but Canard, Barcia and Short passed the Frenchman for an all-American podium in the main and in the overall classification.
The public cheered Barcia, who was the most aggressive and enthusiastic rider on the track.
Best Frenchman each night, Paulin also enjoyed strong support from the fans for his first and last attempt in Supercross; a total of 33,000 spectators enjoyed the races and the great FMX show.
