Young Australian Hunter Lawrence had been expected to make his AMA supercross championship debut in Minneapolis this weekend, riding for Geico Honda at round one of the East Coast series.
However, he is now sidelined and won’t race after damaging his collarbone.
Lawrence said he was “absolutely heartbroken” but that he will “be back soon”.
However there is no definitive date for his return in what is a tough blow for the talented rider who moved to the United States specifically to race supercross.
“Some of you know a few month back that I had a collarbone injury that I have now re-injured. And it isn’t in a condition where I am able to plate it.
“I’m super bummed about it.”
