New Zealand’s Dylan Walsh celebrated his second race win of the season at the weekend’s Swiss Motocross GP.
He won the first of two European 250cc Motocross (EMX250) Championship races at the Italian GP in June and, at the weekend just gone, he celebrated again when he won the first of two EMX250 races at the ninth round of 10 in the series in Switzerland.
Unfortunately Walsh (Husqvarna) had to settle for 12th in race two in Switzerland, which earned him fourth overall for the weekend.
He is sixth in the championship standings with two rounds remaining, in Bulgaria and The Netherlands.
Fellow Kiwi James Scott, the man from Oparau racing in the parallel-but-separate EMX125 series, was forced to battle through the Last Chance Qualifier, winning that race to ensure a starting position in the points races that followed.
He then finished only 31st in his first outing in Switzerland, but improved to claim eighth spot in race two, good enough for 12th overall for the weekend.
Scott is ranked 22nd overall in the EMX125 championships, with one round remaining, in The Netherlands on September 16, and this is despite his missing the opening two rounds of the series.
The KTM and BikesportNZ.com-supported rider now packs his backs and heads to Horsham, west of Melbourne, in Australia, where he will compete in the 125cc class at the 2018 FIM Junior Motocross World Championships this coming weekend.
