THAT’S GOTTA HURT
Whangarei’s Michael Purdon went for the ride of his life at Harrisville at the weekend.
As you can see, he made a bit of a mess of the main jump at the track during the final round of the New Zealand Motocross Championships on Sunday.
He is now at home. He has compressed vertebrae fractures t6 t7 t8 t9t, severe bruising to left lung two tears in middle lobe of right lung with bleeding and a grade 3 dislocation of AC joint of right shoulder that continuously pops out on the slightest movement, contusions to frontal exterior of head and a lot of abrasions on both knees and right side of body.
According to his family, “He’s one lucky boy that’s all he suffered.”
Whilst in Middlemore Hospital, he had problems with low blood pressure secondary to bleeding he improved significantly over 24 hours he had to lay flat for 24 hours because of back injuries he also has a fractured rib on the right side, but he’s up and about back home and last night was out to dinner with friends to celebrate that he is around to tell his story.
BikesportNZ.com wishes him all the best for his recovery.
