The orange hue of KTM dominated the podium at the weekend’s Dutch Motocross GP at Lierop.

Flying Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings (KTM) was sensational in the sand of Lierop, his home Grand Prix at the weekend.

Herlings was shaded by Britain’s Tommy Searle (Kawasaki) at the British GP a week ago but he responded in perfect fashion by score back-to-back wins in the MX2 class on Sunday.

Meanwhile, defending MX1 world champion Antonio Cairoli (KTM) also blitzed the field as he won both MX1 motos in the deep sand of Lierop.

Herlings, Searle and Cairoli each represent their respective countries at the upcoming Motocross of Nations and their sand riding skills will certainly be put to the test again, the deep sand circuit of Lommel, in Belgium, the venue fior that big annual clash.

New Zealand riders, too, will be put to the test at Lommel. The three-rider Kiwi contingent of Josh Coppins, Cody Cooper and Kayne Lamont are currently training hard in sand to be prepared for that race on September 23.
