FINAL ROUND ON SUNDAY
The final round of the Pacific Motorcycle Club’s Bike Rider Magazine Summer Series for 2011/2012 is to be held at Manfeild Autocourse in Feilding this Sunday, April 22.
It has been a great five-round series so far with close racing in across all classes.
Round four of the BRM Summer Series held in March also incorporated the final round of the NZ Superbike Championship as well as the New Zealand F4 Grand Prix at Taupo Motorsport Park.
The final round will also have all the top riders in the central and lower North Island competing and will provide the perfect shake-down for riders entering the Victoria Motorcycle Club Winter Series.
The Pacific Motorcycle Club events are well supported and draw full field of riders in Superbike, Supersport, F3, ProTwin 650, Prolites, StreetStock, MiniLites, Post Classic’s and SuperMotards, to three final rounds of racing.
Havelock North rider Tyler Lincoln has shown the most improvement over this season and at 14 years is out riding a number of older and more experienced riders.
The Firn brothers of Hastings have been developing their new Hysoung 650’s over the summer as well as the Robson Brothers of Napier on their Suzuki SV650’s in the Pro Twin 650 class.
With the Pro Twin 650 class coming down to the final round, with Tyler Firn likely to take out the class. It has been good to see the support from riders in the series with great racing Superbike & Supersport classes.
The junior riders in the StreetStock & MiniLites classes which is again a large field of close racing.
The Streetstock race is likely to go to Rogan Chandler, with Havelock North’s Tyler Lincoln in 2nd though missed a round after travelling to the South Island for racing. Young Hastings rider Zane Burrell is sitting 3rd in the standings with a good buffer over Mihi Banks of Wellington in 4th.
The SuperMotard class will be closely watched as Russell Josiah (pictured above) and Lewis Wahoo are joint on points coming into this final round.
The Pacific Motorcycle Club has a track day on Saturday, April 21 (day before round 5) open to road bikes, and track bikes grouped by rider skill.
