CARS, BIKES FOR CANTERBURY
This Saturday, April 16, Claudelands in Hamilton will be swarming with drag race cars and bikes along with cars and bikes from speedway, track racing, off-road, classic and custom cars and bikes.
Topped off with a selection the rumble is described as “A GOOD Kinda Rumble” which is the theme of the charity car and bike show – “Cars and Bikes for Canterbury”.
The show was created by members of the NZ Drag Racing Association (NZDRA) along with support from the NZ Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and the NZ Street Rod Association (NSRA).
This is believed to be one of the first multi-discipline car and bike shows to feature in Hamilton, which has input from drag racing, speedway, stock cars, karts, custom, classic and vintage sectors in motoring and motorsport.
Many of the members of these associations had family, friends, or business associates affected by the devastating earthquake in Christchurch and wanted to do something to help out the people of Christchurch, and by becoming involved in the show showing a car or bike which they had a great passion for, this passion could be shared with the public for a great cause.
The Cars and Bikes for Canterbury Show is a charity show with all of the proceeds going to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.
The show will feature some of the top racers and some of the fastest vehicles in New Zealand, coming from a variety of motorsport disciplines, as well as some unique cars and bikes from yesteryear.
The Cars and Bikes for Canterbury event is being held this Saturday 16th of April in the Claudelands Events Centre Oval between 9am and 4.30pm. Admission is by gold coin donation.
