An alert viewer has sent us this video from You Tube featuring Ben Townley’s crash at the Auckland round of the Monster Energy Super X Championships just over a week ago.

Fast forward about 3 minutes 30 seconds into the clip and you’ll catch a view of Townley spilling from his bike.

Latest reports are that he will be up and walking around again in just a few weeks and the crash will merely delay his preparation for the upcoming MX1 motocross world championships.

Originally his injured hip joint was thought to be unstable and needing surgery to keep it in. After a brief spell on the operating table he was revived to be told the good news … no operation is needed and “all it requires is rest for a few weeks and then rehab”, Townley told BikesportNZ.com

The GP season kicks off in Bulgaria on April 10.
