As the world celebrated International Women’s Day over the weekend, promoters of the Women’s Motocross World Champs took a moment to honour the incredible women who have made their mark in the world of motocross.
These women have not only conquered tracks but have also inspired young generations with their passion, skill, and determination.
From Kiara Fontanesi’s remarkable six WMX titles to Courtney Duncan’s impressive four world titles as well as Stephanie Laier and Livia Lancelot, with three and two World titles respectively, have left an indelible mark on the sport.
As another thrilling season is going to start, the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship kicks off with the first of seven rounds in Spain at intu-Xanadù Arroyomolinos.
The anticipation is high with a field of remarkable talent.
This season promises fierce competition, with New Zealand’s defending champion Duncan facing off against some great challengers.
From the Spanish home star Daniela Guillen to the legendary Fontanesi, and the rising wonderkid Lotte Van Drunen, not to mention the likes of Lynn Valk and Larissa Papenmeier who are part of many talents here to fight for the ultimate trophy.
International Women’s Day reminds us of the resilience, skill and determination displayed by these incredible women. As they prepare to conquer new heights on the track, let us celebrate all of their achievements!
