Italy’s Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia helped the Ducati factory score an historic double, the factory winning both the MotoGP and World Superbike Championship (WSBK) crowns in the same season.
This exclusive documentary “Nuvola Rossa: Bagnaia and Ducati’s Perfect Comb1nation” narrates through unseen and unfiltered footage the historic achievement accomplished by the “perfect combination” Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati, 2022 MotoGP World Champions after a historic comeback in the Championship in only eight Grands Prix moving up from a staggering 91 points behind the then leader.
Filmed during the last three rounds of the season, the film shows the key moments that brought Pecco and the Ducati Lenovo Team into history through Pecco’s point of view, that of his family and his team.
It is for the first time that the Bologna factory has clinched the MotoGP and WSBK titles in the same year, Spain’s Alvaro Bautista wrapping up the WSBK title at the Mandalika Circuit in Indonesia in November.
Bautista eventually came out on top after a spellbinding year fighting week-in, week-out with Yamaha’s 2021 World Champion, Toprak Razgatlioglu, and Kawasaki’s six-time King, Jonathan Rea.
The 2006 125cc World Champion becomes only the third rider to win a Grand Prix World Championship and then go on to claim the WorldSBK crown after John Kocinski, 1990 250cc World Champion and 1997 World Superbike Champion, and Max Biaggi, four-time 250cc World Champion and two-time World Superbike Champion.
