Four seasons, two MX2 World Championship titles, 24 GP wins and 46 podiums … those are impressive figures in anyone’s language.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle has undoubtedly been the most successful MX2 racer in recent years but now the young man will follow in the wheel tracks of fellow French riders such as Jean-Michel Bayle, David Vuillemin, Marvin Musquin and Dylan Ferrandis as he moves on to the next exciting chapter of his career.
For 2023, the Vialle is ready to race under the bright lights of the AMA Supercross series before a summer of racing Pro Motocross aboard his familiar KTM 250 SX-F.
“We’ve had another strong season this year so far in MX2 and the plan was to move to the MXGP class for 2023 but I really felt this was the best time for me to try and see if I could make it in Supercross,” Vialle explained.
“I have a track near my home and there is an SX tradition in my family. I’m desperate to see what I can do, even if I know it is a big learning curve to be ready for 2023.
“We have to keep realistic, but it is fantastic at the same time that I could speak with Robert [Jonas], Pit [Beirer] and the guys in the US and to make this happen as part of Red Bull KTM. This GP team is like another family to me, so it will be hard to leave but this is a really exciting new story for me and I cannot wait to move and start it all.”
Vialle will be based on the east coast and will train with Aldon Baker, as the announcement of his move confirms that Red Bull KTM Factory Racing will expand its 250 roster in the US, with Max Vohland entering his final season of a three-year deal in 2023.
In the MX2 World Championship next year, Andrea Adamo and Liam Everts will represent Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
