AUSTRALIAN CALENDAR
Motorcycling Australia has announced its competition dates for the 2011 season.
March begins in style for the MOTOCROSS fraternity with the 2011 Australian Motocross Championship series first round at Broadford, Victoria on March 6.
The new season will feature a nine-round series, taking to tracks in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland, culminating at Coolum for the final round on July 30-31.
Mackay will be the destination for the Australian 4 Day Enduro from April 20-23, while the 2011 Honda Broadford Bike Bonanza will be the major attraction over the Easter long weekend.
June welcomes in a new era in Women’s Motocross, with the first round of the expanded Australian Women’s Motocross Championship to be held in Broadford on the 25th and 26th of the month.
Riders will then head to the warm climate of Queensland for the second round on August 27-28.
National titles will be on the line in October for the Junior Motocross (Murray Bridge), Quad Motocross (Coolum) and Moto Trials (South Australia).
Headlining the calendar for the ROADRACING community in October will be the Australian MotoGP from the 14th to the 16th.
Rounding out the year will be the 6 Hour Endurance Race set down for the first weekend in December.
The world’s best come to Murray Bridge for the 2011 FIM SPEEDWAY Sidecar 1000cc World Championship held on November 12.
Several major series and national championships are yet to be confirmed, with the Australian Superbike Championship, Australasian Supercross Championship, Australian Supermoto Championship, MRRDA National Junior Cup and Australian Junior Long Track Championships for 2011 expected to finalise their dates in the coming weeks.
