Australian icon Chad Reed may be just teasing us, but he’s talking about getting back on a bike to race top level international supercross again.
“If it all works out and I feel good and have the motivation to commit to the training. I would love to race a race at (age) 40,” he said.
Reed, who will turn 40 in March next year, talks here about spending time with his kids, riding dirt bikes together and “doing a couple of races”, and he says he’s really enjoying it.
He also talks about racing the Paris Supercross, but will he race more events?
Reed, from Kurri Kurri, in Australia, is a multi-time supercross and motocross champion and the record holder for the most main event starts in AMA supercross history, with 265 starts.
He says he has no plans, but he doesn’t rule anything out.
Reed and the Paris Supercross have a long and illustrious relationship, the Australian going there for the first time in 2000 and won there in 2007.
The two-times US Supercross champion now returns as he didn’t want to miss this opportunity to race in Paris one last time.
Another iconic figure lining up this year is nine-times MX world champion Antonio Cairoli, while the US charter features Justin Brayton, a former Paris SX winner, Justin Bogle, Alex Martin, Josh Hill and Ryan Sipes racing the SX1 class
In just a few more days, the Paris La Defense Arena will be buzzing – the Paris Supercross will be back in action on Saturday, November 27 … will Reed be there too?
