It was meant to be the final throw of the dice for 2020 Dirt Guide Cross-country Series trophy hopefuls this coming weekend (August 15), but COVID-19 has reared its ugly head again.
This weekend’s racing has been postponed following the Government announcement last night that fresh cases of COVID-19 infection had emerged and restrictions have therefore again been imposed.
But, fear not, you’ll still be able to get your Dirt Guide fix, only now at a later date.
The 2020 Dirt Guide Cross-country Series will still roar to a conclusion at the Ohakuri forest venue, just south of Tokoroa, but now it’s booked to happen on the weekend of November 28-29.
“Hopefully this COVID-19 thing will have settled down by November, but nothing is really certain about this,” said Dirt Guide Series promoter Sean Clarke, of Tokoroa.
The Dirt Guide Series is sponsored by Michelin, Bel Ray, Renthal, O’Neal, DRC, Zeta, Kiwi Rider magazine, Oakley goggles, Ogio, TCX boots, Yoshimura, Forest Trail Events and SatCo Logging Equipment.
