What is it with the French at the moment?

First they win the Motocross of Nations for the fourth time in a row and now another Frenchman, former MX2 world champion Marvin Musquin, has become only the second many in history to win all three races at the Monster Energy Cup, taking the $1 million prize at the same time.

We wonder also how Monster Energy felt about handing over $1 million to a Red Bull athlete, while the runner-up rider, American Jason Anderson, is a Rock Star energy drink athlete.

With rival Eli Tomac of the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, crashing out in the opening moto, and once again showing a lack of consistency, you have to go into the 2018 AMA Supercross Championship with Musquin as the favourite.

Anderson went 2-2-2 for second overall and third overall was Scotland’s Dean Wilson, who finished 3-5-3.

Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Eli Tomac, who was leading the opening race early, and Slovenian GP motocross star Tim Gajser, both crashed out of the first race and didn’t take part in the second or third races.
