We here at BikesportNZ.com take literally thousands of photos at the dozens of events we travel to, but, the shame is, most never see the light of day.

So we have decided to trawl through our archives and dig out some of those shots that either have never been seen before or simply that rate among our favourites and deserve a second viewing … we are calling it our “weekend wind-back”.

Our aim is not to embarrass anyone and we’re sure you’ll enjoy seeing these old snaps.

Among the riders featured here are former national motocross champions Damien King, Daryl Hurley and Andrew Hardisty; the legendary Joey Dunlop, posing with a Dunlop sign; former enduro hero Wayne McKinlay; former national superbike champion Tony Rees with his wife Vicky and the two boys; superbike racers Aaron Slight, Eddie Kattenberg, Russell Josiah, Fred Merkel, Rob Phillis, Mal Campbell, Grant Ramage and Andrew Stroud; motocross GP stars Alessio Chiodi and Pit Beirer with our own Andy McGechan and the Shirriffs brothers, Steve, Craig and Kris.
