GUY MARTIN A HIT WITH FANS
Britain’s Guy Martin was an instant hit with the Kiwi fans when he arrived to race the third and final round of New Zealand’s Suzuki Series, the famous Cemetery Circuit public street race meeting at Wanganui on Boxing Day.
He rode a Suzuki GSX-R1000 loaned to him by Suzuki New Zealand and finished sixth in the day’s first F1 race, but DNFed race two.
He also finished fourth and a third on a Manx Norton in the Classic Solos class and was back on board the Suzuki superbike to finish sixth in the Robert Holden Memorial feature race.
Martin also raced at the Cemetery Circuit in 2006.
“I’m not bothered were I ride motorbikes, I just want to ride them, but to come to New Zealand and do the Cemetery Circuit on Boxing Day – I just love it,” he said.
Now take a lap of the Isle of Man with the legend … Guy Martin is from Lincolnshire, in England, and his distinctive broad accent will have you in stitches …
Yes, you’re on-board for the TT’s quickest ever recorded lap in the Senior TT 2007 race in the TT’s 100th Anniversary Year.
