The Motocross of Nations is the biggest motocross race of the year and next season it will be held in Kegums, in Latvia.

Team New Zealand finished 20th of the more than 40 nations entered for the 2013 edition of the great race in Germany a month ago.

BikesportNZ.com rider Kayne Lamont (bike No.44), New Zealand’s MX2 class rider, is pictured above in full flight at the Teutschenthal track near Leipzig, sandwiched between Norwegian MX2 rider Magne Klingsheim (No.50) and Czech open class rider Martin Michek (63).

Can New Zealand once again achieve the podium highs of a few years ago? Maybe Latvia will be another magical trip, as it was for the Kiwis in England in 1998, in Belgium in 2001 and in England again in 2006.
