NOT QUITE READY TO RACE
Ben Townley has dropped us a line to kill the rumours that he’s racing the Waikato Super X this Saturday night.
The former world MX2 champion and former East Coast Lites supercross champion from Taupo is busy building up for a comeback to racing at the Whakatane Summercross, just after Christmas, and, despite the rumours, he’s not ready to race the Super X in Hamilton tomorrow night.
“A lot of rumours have been going around that I’ll be racing but I’m sorry to disappoint you,” he said.
“I will certainly be there to support the race but it will be from the stands and not the start line.
“Although I’m back riding it’s a different story lining up for a supercross race without having much time on the track.
“I’m looking forward to cheering on our NZ boys and to seeing a lot of my fans.
“Riding has been going really well and am starting to bust out some serious motos.”
“Got to shoot to the gym. Catch up later.”
