Few people will recognise Waikato-based motorsports videographer Grant Collingwood because he’s a “behind-the-scenes” kind of guy.
But they will know of his work, the noted cameraman and owner of the CTAS Live company covering New Zealand motorcycle racing events for many years and, more recently, working in conjunction with the Sky Television Network to help produce it’s Sky Sport Next footage for mainstream television.
CTAS Live Timing, Audio and Video Streaming System has been developed in New Zealand to bring viewers the latest technology, normally only available at large international events.
By interfacing with Track Timing and sound gear and, by using professional-grade video cameras and mixing equipment, events can be broadcast worldwide, offering enhanced exposure for the sport and, of course, to satisfy promoters.
Today he chats with BikesportNZ.com about his recent exploits and where it might be heading in the future.
