Watch as Spain’s Joan Mir receives the accolades for winning the 2020 MotoGP world crown for his Ecstar Suzuki factory race team.
The FIM Awards Ceremony was held in Portugal and broadcast worldwide.
Mir clinched the MotoGP title at the penultimate round of the series in Valencia, Spain, on November 15.
He finished the Valencia GP in seventh place, but crucially ended the weekend with a 29-point advantage over his nearest rivals in the standings, Italy’s Franco Morbidelli, meaning Mir was confirmed as the 2020 MotoGP World Champion with a race to spare.
It was an incredible achievement in only his second season in the class, and a momentous day for Suzuki who had won their first title for 20 years whilst also celebrating their centenary year and 60 years in racing.
