The team from the United States was expected to win at home, but it didn’t work out that way at the 2018 Motocross of Nations.
The trio of riders representing France – Gautier Paulin, Jordi Tixier and Dylan Ferrandis – won the event in Michigan outright, now making it five consecutive years that the French have claimed the coveted Chamberlain Trophy and again sending a clear message to the Americans that the Motocross World Championships are called that for a reason … that’s where the best riders in the world do their racing.
Runners-up in Michigan were Team Italy, with the trio from The Netherlands claiming the third podium spot.
The host Americans – Eli Tomac, Justin Barcia and Aaron Plessinger – were well beaten on their home turf, forced to settle for sixth overall.
Have a look at this nice video clip from Red Bull that looks back at the 2018 edition of the great event.
