The fifth round of six in the popular NZXC Cross-country Series hits the Riverhead Forest, west of Auckland, this weekend.
With this Paul Whibley-inspired series rapidly reaching the pointy end, it’s do or die for many of the leading competitors who will want to put themselves in a strong position after this Saturday’s big race, an event that doubles also as the annual Dead Toad cross-country race and is round two of the New Zealand GNCC Series as well.
Titirangi’s Callan May (Yamaha) and Coatesville’s Sam Greenslade (KTM) have been the stand-out individuals in the senior grade of the NZXC Series thus far and it might be expected that these two men will go bar-to-bar again on Saturday.
The sixth and final round of the NZXC Series is set for Waimiha, in the King Country, on December 8.
