GLEN HELEN CONFIRMED
The hosting venue for the 2017 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will be the steep and unforgiving Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California, in the United States.
The last time the US hosted this “Olympic Games of Motocross” was at Denver, Colorado, in 2010, and prior to that it was staged in the US at Budd’s Creek, in Maryland, just south of Washington D.C., in 2007.
“For many years Glen Helen has been a devoted partner.” Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream said.
“I am delighted to be able to continue this strong partnership, it’s a real pleasure working together with Bud Feldkamp and his staff. USA is an important country for motocross and it’s fabulous to be returning to Glen Helen with the best motocross event of the year, the American fans are fantastic and deserve to have this unique event in their country and to be able to support their powerful US Team.”
Feldkamp, president of Glen Helen Raceway said: “Myself and the entire Glen Helen staff are extremely excited to host the 2017 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations. The opportunity to welcome the world of motocross to our back yard in Southern California, for the first time in its 70-year history, is something that we do not take lightly at Glen Helen.
“Thank you to the FIM, AMA, and particularly Youthstream for giving us this honour. I look forward to doing everything in my power to make this a truly historic motocross event for all the teams and fans from around the world.”
The Motocross of Nations will this year be held north-west of Milan, at Maggiora, in Italy, on the weekend of September 24-25.
