The 1986 Motocross des Nations in Italy was incredible and it’s there again this year, exactly 30 years on and at the same venue.
Team America totally dominated that day in 1986, with riders Rick Johnson, David Bailey and Johnny O’Mara.
Riding a Honda CR125, Johnny ‘The O’Show’ O’Mara famously smoked the 500cc world champ David Thorpe in his CR125R on this hilly Maggiora circuit in Italy.
All the Americans finished 1-2 in every moto and lay waste to the best motocross riders in the world.
