GP STARS SIDELINED
Grand Prix motocross riders injure themselves often … it’s the nature of the sport and the intensity that imposes itself at this ultimate level, but terrible news out of Belgium and Holland this week is that GP heroes Max Nagl, Todd Waters and Glenn Coldenhoff have all been sidelined in practice track incidents.
Germany’s Nagl injured his wrist, Australian Waters broke his leg, collarbone and hip and Dutchman Coldenhoff hurt his knee. They are all now in hospital.
Coldenhoff has a lateral ligament tear, and a broken bone in his lower leg.
Waters had this to say about his injury:
“Sorry to inform you guys about the bad news but today in training I come over a big jump and four guys had crashed. I landed on a bike and broke my leg, collarbone and hip.”
Not only is this disappointing news for the three riders, but the big pity is they are all in good form, and looking likely to end the season inside the top ten in their respective classes.

For Coldenhoff, it doesn’t change anything for 2015 as he has a contract with Suzuki to run the MXGP class, but for both Nagl and Waters it could affect their chances of getting a ride in 2015.
With about five top MX2 riders soon moving up to the MXGP class, the pressure on them to perform is greater than ever.
