BIDDLE IN ITALY
Auckland’s Avalon Biddle is back in Italy in 2014 and, now settled at her base near Milan, she took time out to report back to New Zealand.
“Ciao from Italy! I arrived here a week ago after the long flight and made myself at home in the small house I will be based from in Bergamo, close to Milan.
“Funnily enough it’s the same place that WIL Sport mentor Fred Merkel, and also Rueben Xaus and Simon Crafar have lived in when racing world superbikes – I’m hoping there is something fast in the water here.
“The team workshop is nearby, where my new moto3 bike is currently being finished off in preparation for the first ride at Mugello, although I haven’t managed to do any riding on the Rumi moto3 yet as the team is still sorting a few electronic issues on the bike.
“We will be testing on track this weekend. Fingers crossed all goes well as the official CIV test is the next weekend at Imola, followed by the opening round of the Italian championships (CIV) on April 4, 5, 6.
“I’m super happy to have this opportunity to develop and race such a fantastic motorcycle and the support necessary to make back here to Europe. I’m working really hard to make the most of it.
“It’s also always an honour to represent New Zealand on the international stage along with other WIL Sport riders up here.”
