KIWIS IN THE POINTS
Kiwi riders were pocketing good points at the latest round of the British Red Bull Pro Nats Motocross series at Whitby, in Yorkshire, at the weekend.
Two of the Kiwi DBG Race Team riders – Rotorua’s John Phillips and Masterton’s Bjarne Fredericksen – were in action, alongside fellow Kiwi and BikesportNZ.com rider Kayne Lamont (pictured above), of Mangakino, riding for the Rob Hooper Suzuki Team.
With organisers needing to keep racing tight and exciting, all the MX1 and MX2 riders were run concurrently on the track, but scored separately.
In the MX1 class, Fredericksen went DNF-15th for 16th overall on the day, while, in the MX2 category, Phillips finished 11-7 (8th overall for the day) and Lamont scored 9-DNF (15th overall for the day).
Honda’s Brad Anderson won the MX1 class on Sunday with 2-1 results, while Honda’s Elliot Banks-Browne scored back-to-back wins to dominate the MX2 class.
