DESALLE & ROCZEN ON TOP
Belgian Clement Desalle (Suzuki) and German Ken Roczen (KTM) won the MX1 and MX2 classes respectively at today’s United States Motocross Grand Prix.
That also mean Desalle and Roczen (pictured above) – the two riders unbeaten at the USGP — both now top their respective championship standings after three rounds thus far.
Roczen had led the MX2 championship at the start of the day, ahead of Dutch rival Jeffery Herlings (KTM), but with back-to-back wins at the USGP at Glen Helen, California, he has now extended that lead from eight points to 14 as the riders head to the next round, in Brazil next weekend.
For Desalle, though, it was an even greater result at the USGP, his back-to-back moto wins lifting him from third overall – and seven points behind Frenchman Steven Frossard – to top of the standings, now six points clear of new No.2 man Max Nagl, of Germany.
