ADDED INCENTIVE
There’s now added incentive for American riders to enter and win the United States Motocross Grand Prix this weekend.
South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas has announced that they will be offering a $100,000 payout to any American Rider who takes the MX1 overall win at the 2011 Monster Energy Grand Prix of the United States on Sunday.
In light of this recent announcement, Glen Helen Raceway has extended the deadline for MX1 entries to give potential racers one last opportunity to enter and compete against the best riders in the world.
The announcement was made at the Monster Energy Grand Prix of the United States Meet and Greet, Press Conference and Fan Appreciation Session at Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Riverside on Thursday.
During the press conference portion of the event, Glen Helen Raceway owner Dr. Bud Feldkamp announced both the South Point prize and the deadline extension to members of both the domestic and international media.
Any American who claims the overall victory at Glen Helen this weekend will be eligible to claim the South Point Hotel and Casino $100,000 prize purse. Coupled with Lucas Oil’s $5,000 Marty Moates award for the highest finishing American, an American rider could potentially come away with an additional $105,000 in prize money.
