BUGDEN QUICKEST
Brisbane Suzuki ace Robbie Bugden was quickest at a damp Hampton Downs today as riders completed qualifying ahead of tomorrow’s fourth round of five in this year’s Castrol Power 1 New Zealand Superbike Championships.
Second best was defending champion and current series points leader Andrew Stroud (on another Suzuki GSXR1000), with Hamilton’s Nick Cole (Kawasaki) the third quickest.
Meanwhile, in the 600 supersport class, it was Christchurch rider John Ross (Yamaha) who took pole ahead of Taupo’s Scott Moir (Honda). Wellington’s Glen Skachill (Suzuki) was third fastest.
In the 600 superstock class it was young Aucklander Jaden Hassan (Yamaha) who qualified fastest, ahead of Tauranga’s Sam Love (Yamaha) and Inglewood’s Midge Smart (Yamaha).
