BIKERS’ DAY OUT
Bikes, BBQ and the Blues … it’s Auckland’s only “bikers’ day out”, on Sunday, March 6, 11am to 4pm, Historic Fort Takapuna, Devonport, Auckland.
Visit www.bikesBBQblues.co.nz and see that “Bikes, BBQ & the Blues” is exactly that. It’s all about YOU and your BIKE, hearty food and BBQs. To set the scene in centre stage are the bands and blues artists. And of course hundreds of other bikers with all types of motorbikes to enthuse about and admire. Every kind of motorcycle is welcome, from modern, custom and bobbers to vintage, veteran and classic.
With the promotional support of Solid Gold FM the event will be bigger in 2011 – the biggest rally of Auckland, Waikato and regions bikes you will see in one place.
To add to the experience there will be exhibits by motorcycle retailers, bike clubs, collectors and related industry specialists. Make it an afternoon out with your mates, your club or your favourite pillion. If you want to come as a club, attend for free, and create your own exhibit you are very welcome, but please contact Devonport Riders Club first to register and understand a few simple rules.
While in Devonport visit the historic Fort Takapuna on site, Devonport village, the new Navy museum and take a ride up Mt Victoria and North Head. There is no restriction on entry and exit times and re-entry is permitted.
The event is a not-for-profit festival raising funds for charity. Event organizers are DEVORC (Devonport Riders Club) and The Rotary Club of Devonport.
There’s a nominal $10 entry fee per motorbike which enters you in a prize draw, a free BBQ sausage and allows you to park in the event area and qualify for other spot prizes. There is NO charge for riders and pillions. The walk up public will pay $2 as a charitable donation. Alcohol will not be on sale.
Located at historic Fort Takapuna (adjacent to Narrow Neck Beach), with cliff top views across the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto, this is a stunning location for a bikers park up on a summer afternoon. It’s your chance to enjoy a large motorcycle rally where you can display your pride and joy, enthuse and admire others, and dream about your passion.
