VILLOPOTO WINS ANAHEIM
It’s first blood to Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto in the AMA Supercross Championships in the United States today.
The former Lites Motocross and West Coast Lites Supercross champion, out of action most of last season because of injury, bounced back in convincing style at Anaheim, Califiornia, this evening.
He headed home defending supercross champion Ryan Dungey (Suzuki), Yamaha’s James Stewart, also on the comeback from injury, Honda’s Trey Canard (Honda) and Australian Chad Reed (Honda).
Fellow Kawasaki rider Josh Hansen, the son of motocross legend Donnie Hansen and winner of the Australasian SuperX Championships’ open class crown in 2010, won the Lites final.
Hansen beat fellow Kawasaki riders Broc Tickle and Tyla Rattray, of South Africa, to the top of the Lites podium.
