BT READY TO RUMBLE
Bay of Plenty hero Ben Townley is raring to go.
The Tauranga man has been back in America now for the past two weeks, very busy with riding and testing ahead of the start to the AMA United States Motocross Championships, set for Hangtown, California, this coming weekend.
“I spent my first week testing in California with my mechanic Clint and my team, going through chassis set up and getting me dialled in for the season.
“We had our time line slashed way to short after I had my little mishap back home in New Zealand, but we made really good progress and found a really good set up. I’m headed back to Cali today for a warm up race at Glen Helen, it will give me a good chance to shake down the set up we finished up with and give me some valuable gate time before I line up at Hangtown.
“I spent this past week doing motos back here in Florida. I feel great on the bike, conditioning-wise I lost a lot with the six weeks that I had to stand down so I’ll be working my way back into shape as this championship kicks off.
“It feels awesome to know that the season is right around the corner now, it’s been a really long time coming for me and I’m excited to prep my gate in 14 days time from now it’s going to be an interesting series.”
