The new superbike season will be upon us once again before you know it.
And, with that in mind, Moto Academy NZ has been extremely busy over the past few months, getting motorcycles ready, securing riders, dealing with a withdrawing rider and securing another rider, among other things.
The Moto Academy NZ riders have been clocking up the laps as they make use of the Victoria Motorcycle Club’s Actrix Winter Series too.
“We launched the year with Glen Orwin, James Jarman, Ben Taylor and Daniel Mettam on board with Ben and Daniel attending the California Superbike School and a couple of test days,” said Moto Academy NZ’s Steve Bagshaw.
“Following that, Daniel and family decided to change their focus and withdraw from Moto Academy NZ. This was quite a blow, but we have recovered and have negotiated terms with Kyle Hammond and family for the 2010 season.
“Kyle joined us in our foundation year in 2008 and has progressed quite strongly since then from being 10-15 seconds a lap slower than the front runners, to running 0.56 sec a lap off the new lap record pace at Manfeild in the NZSBK round in March 2010.
“Kyle is also studying for his Engineering Technology degree so will have a very busy and rewarding year.
“I would like to thank Alpinestars, RaceSupplies.co.nz and W. White Wholesale in particular for their support during this past period as the changes most affected them and they all helped us a lot.”
